How to Download Free Apps From Apple Store

In my last article , i explained how you can Create a free iTunes Account without entering Credit Card information to download Free Apps for iPod Touch 4 . In this article i will explain how you can start downloading free apps to your itouch 4 .

Steps-by-step guide to download free app from App Store :

  1. Activate your Ipod Touch 4 and create a free iTunes account using the method given here
  2. Tap on the App Store icon on your homescreen as shown in the image below . It’s on the dock by default.ipod_touch__4_app_store_icon
  3. Make sure you are connected to the internet over WiFi.
  4. Now choose any Free app of your choice . I choose iBooks .ipod_touch_4_free_apps
  5. Click on blue “FREE” tab on top right as shown in the image below and it will turn into green “INSTALL” buttonfree_installipod_touch_4_free_apps (1)
  6. Tap on the INSTALL button and you will be asked to enter your iTunes account details. Tap on Use Existing Account tab as shown in the image below .ipod_touch_4_free_apps
  7. Now enter your email address and login as entered during the registration process and click login ipod_touch_4_free_apps
  8. Once authorized the app will start downloading in your dashboard.

    Hi there,

    I wanted to buy this ipod touch4 for my brother2.
    Is the HeyWire app (for free texting worldwide) downloadable to this ipodT4?
    My brohter1 has his own Mac computer already and am using my iPhone4, just want to make that my little brohter2 can be reachable with this HeyWire or HeyTell from his iPodT4.

      @ Relan : Heywire and HeyTell works on any iDevice isth iOS 3 and above , so yes it works on new iPod touch 4 .

      And thanks for the idea , i will be writing about the two apps you mentioned … if you can let me know another useful apps that you are alwaready using ..

    hi so my dad brought me the ipod touch 4th gen. and i wanted to download Tap Tap revenge 4 but when it was for free this messagecame up saying that i needed to do the paymet when it was for free also i tried 5 other free apps and still that message came up ? can you help me?

    Two Things:

    1) Can I still have a free account if I am using a iTunes Gift card to download songs?

    2) What if I decide later to pay for songs on my credit card…can I change my account to a PAID one???

    FYI: My 8 year old got a iPod TOuch 4 for Christmas and it came with a $30 iTunes card.

    Hi
    I tried to sign up for free itunes apps, but when i got to the part in the registration where u had to give all your credit card info.,there wasnt a “none” button to highlight so that you wouldnt have to have a paying account, other words a free account. Any advice. I followed your instructions to the letter. No free apps. for me yet.
