We have blogged about the iPod Touch 4 Peel in out last post , but then it was not available for sale , or any price details were available . Recent reports suggest that the Apple Peel is available for sale . Created by Chinese developer Yosion, the Apple Peel 520 is a specially created iPod touch 4 case capable of converting your iPod Touch into a mobile phone just like an iPhone .

We first caught glimpse of it a few months ago with Sprint branding , now more and more people are turning their iPod touch to iPhone using the Apple peel which costs just $60 . Since iPod has all the features except the phone [call , sms] , its the best deal.

Please note that you need to jailbreak your iPod Touch before installing requires software for the peel.

We have the news that new enhanced Apple Peel 520 will first appear in stores in China before being released in North America and UK .

Update :

Apple Sue’s Peel 520 maker for violating copyright. Peel 520 maker responds saying ” It’s not a copy or a counterfeit iPhone . It a creative approach” . Apple spokeswoman said , users wont receive support for any warranty claims due to damages caused by tampering the iPod .

    its gonna be amazing if this thing comes out in market and hopefully in a legal manner. but i am surely worried about the battery back up and other things like hardware and software of the i touch.hope this external attachment will not screw it all.

    and will this device generate the specific IMEI number and will it be compatible with all kinds of bandwidths of SIM cards. and there are many more other constraints to be fulfilled. hope this works out im excited.
