Here comes the new iPod Touch we all have been waiting for . As expected it has numerous new features borrowed from the iPhone 4th Generation. Literally its the iPhone without the Phone .

Not much of a difference than we have already covered in our last post . It was pretty much known to us what the new pod is going to look like.
- New iPod Touch comes with razor-sharp Retina Display , having 960 x 640 pixels.
- High Definition Rear camera can record video’s upto 720p . Thats a welcome addition
- Facetime comes to iPod . Now you can make calls between ipods and iphone’s having this feature.
- Faster processing with A4chip that powers the iPhone 4.
- 3-axis gyroscope of the iPhone 4, which makes motion tracking more precise than just the accelerometer.
- Comes pre-installed with iOS 4.1
How is it different from older iPod Touch ?
Has two cameras , thats the most desirable addition in the new touch.
- It can record H.264 video at 720 lines of resolution (720p) and 30 frames per second , pretty cool.
- Face-Time is added . You can use it with Fring aswell. Great !!
- Now gives 40 hours of audio & 7 hours of video.
- More Slim. How slim that can be , it’s already so thin.
- A4 Processor for fast response on multitasking apps and gaming.

yup Jasim.. .. but dude almost all features of iphone 4 are provided .. even speaker is there i guess .. ..
its a disappointing from iphone 4 buyers prospective viewpoint . .. and that too its available at half a price of iphone 4 ..
scope is there any chances for prices to be lower down .. for iphone 4
of course a smartphone has always been the first choice of every user. No voice dialing , no phone app , no compass , no flash etc are some minor things which gives iPhone a little bit more preference.

How can Itouch use Facetime Dont you need a Sim Card to talk with other people??
nope. u just make a account and call people over wifi. Even the iphone 4 uses Facetime over wifi.
But how do you find the person you want to call by a nick or something??
You enter your apple id and email address or you can make a new email address just for Facetime. When you want to call someone you first have to add them as a contact with thier email address, more ppl you call more contacts you have.

cant say anything about the camera until you se actual pictures taken by users themseves …. the Apple promotional ones are taken in controlled environment ….
its not a iphone 4 without a camera
1. It has a 0.9MP (at most) camera
2. It has a much smaller battery
3. Its speakears are not as good
4. The retina display is not an IPS retina display like the one in iPhone 4
5. It Doesnt have GPS
6. Its has only 256MB RAM compared to 512MB of iPhone 4
7. It has no camera flash
*Its not iPhone 4 without phone, crappier camera and GPS

My new iPod Touch is now the same as the iPhone after installing the Line2 App. The difference is that my monthly cost is $6.50 with unlimited everything!

actual count is somewhat less than 1 Mpx . ie like .9 or lower probabaly

This iPod Touch 4 has a smaller speaker than the iPod Touch 3
and this new iPod Touch 4 gets less wifi signal. the old iPod Touch 3 gets more wifi signal
iPod Touch 4Gen Speaker = 3 Stars
iPod Touch 3Gen Speaker = 4 Stars
iPod Touch 4Gen WiFi Antenna = 2 Stars
iPod Touch 3Gen WiFi Antenna = 3 Stars
so that makes the ipod touch 4 the winner , if we dont compare the display , processor and camera

I bought it and i absolutly looooove it! Facetime works perfect, its really slim etc etc, the camera makes the pictures verry fast. The quality of the pic depends on how much light there is. In tge dark its not like wooooh what A quality but the most of the times the pictures come out beautiful and super sharp!
My wifi has waaay more connection with this ipod than one of my friends’s ipod touch (3)
I just really love my new ipod toch 4!

i was talking about the iPod Touch 4 8GB that one gets less wifi signal, and the iPod Touch 4 32GB gets more wifi signal than the iPod Touch 3

well I buy the iPod Touch 3 32GB like 8 months ago I was was getting a good wifi signal then the iPod Touch 4 came out and I buy the iPod Touch 4 8GB and with that one I was getting a very low wifi signal I was sad then I return it to the store and then I buy the iPod Touch 4 32GB and WOW whit that one I was getting much more wifi signal

@ David : this should not haveppen , because there is no hardware diff other than the memory , are you sure both had same iOS fimrware … i mean the one you returned and the one you bought .

Yes, both where runing iOS 4.1, I was thinking that maby the iPod Touch 4 8GB comes with a part of the wifi antenna disconnected because here http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPod-Touch-4th-Generation-Teardown/3562/1 in step 15 they show a copper tape and they not know what is that for, and that copper is connected to nothing, and all wifi anntenas are made of copper so maby the iPod Touch 4 32GB comes whit that copper tape but connected to the wifi antenna and maby that’s why the iPod Touch 4 32GB gets alot more wifi signal
Steve Jobs always do things like that, like in the iPod Touch 3 they live a hole inside the iPod and that hole was made for a camera, and they don’t put the camera in the iPod touch 3 they just make that hole
Not an Iphone people, an Ipod! Use it for music!!! and then some!. Wifi safari maps and all aps I have tried work great, I already have a dedicated garmin gps rugged b/w water and shockproof, a SE Vivaz (wich puts the ipod touch video camera to shame) … all I wanted was an mp3 player with a touch screen and a fast OS!!! It’s not a psp, is not an Iphone .. it’s a freaking mp4 player!!!!!
I bought the firs gen itouch (when the appstore was just a 20 bucks expansion package) and is pretty similar to this in terms of mp3 capabilities .. but watching hd videos on the retina display .. whoa… what a change.
Pple pls I converted an mp4 movie to 960by 640 pixel and when I sent it to my I tunes it played but when I tried dragging it to my I touch it says that the video can not play on my itouch 4…pls is nt meant 2 be. Able 2 play 960 by 640??what Is the problem pls

Pretty, but no staying power, and not compatible with my old iTouch G2 Bose sound dock (or even the old Apple cable).
I can’t really recommend this. I loved my old 2G, so I was expecting great things from the new 4G model. Unfortunately, the battery life is laughable, so really can’t take it on a trip without lugging a laptop or charger with you and it is not compatible with my existing Bose Sound Dock (something that I am told is an Apple malpractice.

I’m not a smartphone user, but I want to have mobile web access and can get an Ipod Touch 4 for free with my credit card points. If I don’t have wifi in my home, is it strong enough to pick up outside unsecured networks?
