Here is the hardware teardown of iPod touch 4 by iFixit team which ripped it off as soon as the iPod arrived at Apple Stores across the country .
So what it revealed ? Here are some pictures which shows it internal structure and components used in manufacturing the 4th generation iPod touch.
Here are the key differences in use of hardware compared to iPhone 4 .
- Ipod 4 has 256 MB ob RAM unlike 512 MB for iPhone 4 .
- 3.44 W/Hour battery is used in Ipod 4 while iPhone 4 has 5.25 W/Hour battery.
- No GPS
- 0.7 Mega Pixel Camera

nope , but you can use skype and fring to make calls

Would it be possible to replace the Touch 4 battery with the Iphone one to have more operating time?

not at the moment, the dev team still has to investigate the operating system and “hack” it.

I think you have missed that iPod touch 4 has GPS and built in maps .
